Bon Farmhouse takes its name from Kewzing's Bon monastery nearby, and is run by a local family on their own farm. The setting is a working plot of tea bushes, cardamom under shade trees and kitchen gardens, with Narsing and Kabru visible on clear days. Rooms are in the family property and cottages built around it, with wooden interiors and attached bathrooms.
It suits travellers who want more comfort than a village homestay but still want to eat what the farm grows. Expect organic vegetables, local cheese and pickles, and help with picking or sorting if you ask. It is about 20 minutes from Ravangla's Buddha Park and a good overnight between Pelling and Namchi.
Why we book it
What it does well

Questions travellers ask
Questions about Bon Farmhouse
Is Bon Farmhouse a homestay or a hotel?
In between. It is family-run on a working farm, with meals cooked at home, but rooms are more private and better finished than a typical village homestay. Think of it as a farmstay. Book with meals included, as there are few eating options nearby in the evening.
How far is Bon Farmhouse from Pelling?
Kewzing is on the Ravangla–Legship road. Pelling is roughly 40 km and about 2 hours by car via Legship and Gyalshing. Ravangla is about 20 minutes uphill. That makes it a sensible overnight on a west-to-south loop: Pelling, Kewzing, then Ravangla or Namchi.
What can we do on the farm?
Depending on the season you can help pick vegetables, watch cardamom being dried (September to November), walk the fields and village paths, and visit the Bon monastery. Birdwatching is good early in the morning. Ask the family the evening before so someone can show you around.
