Sikkim month by month
The same week can mean snow at Lachung and warm tea gardens in the south. Pick the month, then the district, or the other way round.
March to May for rhododendrons and clear spring days, and October to December for the clearest mountain views. December to March brings snow up high. June to September is monsoon: cheaper, green and quieter, but landslides close roads, especially NH10 and North Sikkim. Check current status before you travel.

Rhododendrons from late March low down to May at Yumthang. Warm days, haze by afternoon, busy in May.
Jun – Sep
Monsoon
Green, quiet and cheaper. Landslides close roads, so keep buffer days and travel light on plans.
Oct – Nov
Clear season
The sharpest Kangchenjunga views of the year and the busiest weeks around the Puja holidays. Book early.
Dec – Feb
Winter
Cold, dry and clear. Snow at Lachung and Tsomgo, high passes often shut, low valleys mild.
