A Summit Hotels property on the Pelling–Pemayangtse side of town with a spa and mountain-facing rooms. A solid comfort-tier base a few minutes by car from Pemayangtse and Sanga Choeling.
Summit Newa Regency belongs to Summit Hotels, a Sikkim and Darjeeling group, and sits a few minutes' drive from Pemayangtse Monastery and Sanga Choeling. It has a spa, free wi-fi and a tour desk, and its mountain-facing rooms look towards Kangchenjunga on clear days.
We use it when Norbu Ghang is full or when a family wants a modern hotel with lifts and predictable service. It works well as a two-night base for Pelling sightseeing plus a day trip to Khecheopalri and Yuksom. Rates are a band, include breakfast on most plans and rise in October, late December and May. Check current status before you travel.
Why we book it

Questions travellers ask
Questions about Summit Newa Regency, Pelling
How far is Summit Newa Regency from Pemayangtse Monastery?
About a three-minute drive, and Sanga Choeling is about six minutes by car to the start of the climb. The Rabdentse ruins are 10 minutes away. This makes it a practical base for an early monastery visit before day-trippers arrive from Gangtok, Ravangla and Darjeeling. Upper Pelling's cafes are also a short drive.
Do Summit Newa Regency rooms have a Kangchenjunga view?
Mountain-facing rooms do, on clear days. Ask for one specifically when booking, because not every room faces north. The clearest months are mid-October to March, and early morning is best. From June to September cloud usually covers the range, which is when rates are lowest.
Is Summit Newa Regency suitable for senior travellers?
Yes. It is a modern hotel with lifts, short walks to the car and a restaurant on site, which suits older travellers better than older hillside buildings with many steps. Pelling sits at about 2,150 m, so take the first evening slowly and drink water. Tell us about mobility needs and we will request a suitable floor.
