A well-known Pelling resort with wide Kangchenjunga views, a café and a hot stone bath spa. Our usual comfort-tier pick in Pelling when the view comes first and budgets sit below the premium hotels.
Norbu Ghang is one of the longer-established hotel names in Sikkim, and its Pelling retreat is built for the view: rooms and terraces face north to Kangchenjunga, Kabru and Pandim. It has its own café serving bakes and snacks, and a spa known for the dotho, the Sikkimese hot stone bath in which river stones heated in a fire are dropped into a wooden tub of water.
We pick it for couples and families on our comfort journeys who want good rooms without paying premium rates. The Pelling sights are a short drive, and the hotel can arrange sightseeing cars. As with every Pelling hotel, the view depends on weather: October to March is clearest. Rates are a band, not a quote, and the ₹50 Sikkim tourist fee is extra. Check current status before you travel.

Questions travellers ask
Questions about Norbu Ghang Retreat and Spa
What is the hot stone bath at Norbu Ghang?
It is a version of the Sikkimese and Tibetan dotho bath: river stones are heated in a fire and lowered into a wooden tub of water, warming it slowly. People use it to ease stiffness after long drives and treks. It is paid separately at the spa. Ask at the desk for timings, and avoid it if you have heart or blood pressure concerns.
Is Norbu Ghang good for a honeymoon in Pelling?
Yes, it is one of our regular honeymoon picks in Pelling at the comfort level. Ask for a mountain-facing room, plan sunrise from the terrace between October and March, and pair it with a morning at Pemayangtse and the Rabdentse ruins. For a quieter and more expensive stay, The Elgin Mount Pandim is the step up.
How do I reach Norbu Ghang from Bagdogra?
Bagdogra to Pelling is about 145 km and 5–6 hours by private car via Melli, Jorethang and Legship. A reserved car costs indicatively ₹5,500–7,500 one way. Shared jeeps from Siliguri go to Gyalshing, from where a local taxi covers the last 10 km. In the monsoon slides can add hours, so check current status before you travel.
