The monsoon sets in. Heavy rain, leeches on forest trails and cloud that hides Kangchenjunga for days at a time make June a poor month for sightseeing. Landslides can close roads, including NH10 along the Teesta. The farms are green and paddy planting begins in the lower valleys, but we do not recommend travel unless you want rain and solitude.
