Mayfair sits at Lower Samdur, near Ranipool, roughly 20–30 minutes' drive below central Gangtok depending on traffic. Being out of town is the point: the resort is spread across landscaped grounds with Sikkimese-style buildings, a large spa and a licensed casino, and you can spend a full day here without leaving. It is also slightly lower and warmer than Gangtok, which helps in winter.
Rooms and suites are large, service is polished and the restaurants cover Indian, Asian and continental food. The trade-off is distance: every trip into Gangtok means a car, and evening strolls on MG Marg take planning. We suggest it for the last two nights of a trip, after the high passes, when a spa and a slow morning are welcome.

How far is Mayfair Gangtok from MG Marg?
Mayfair is at Lower Samdur near Ranipool, about 10 km from MG Marg. The drive usually takes 20–30 minutes, longer at evening rush hour. A taxi into town costs about ₹500–700 each way. The resort can arrange cars, and we include transfers when we book it as part of a package.
Does Mayfair Gangtok have a casino?
Yes, the resort has a licensed casino, and it is one of the few places in Sikkim with one. Entry rules, minimum ages and dress codes are set by the casino and can change, so check current status before you travel. Many guests come for the spa and gardens and never visit the casino.
Is Mayfair a good choice for a honeymoon in Sikkim?
Yes, for couples who want resort facilities: spa treatments, large rooms and grounds to walk in. It suits the end of a trip after North Sikkim or Tsomgo. If you prefer to walk to cafés and MG Marg in the evening, combine one or two nights here with a central Gangtok hotel.
