Pedong and Reshi road drive

Wikipedia's Jelep La article describes the Kalimpong route to the pass as passing through Rongli, Rhenock and Pedong. Driving it gives a feel for the old trade corridor, now a hill road with tea shops and small villages.
The route passes forest, farmland and river valleys, with occasional views of the snow range in clear weather. In the monsoon it is also the alternative when NH10 is shut, so it can be busy.
Roads can be narrow and affected by slides. Check current status before you travel, and ask your driver about current conditions. We treat Kalimpong and Pedong as roads only and do not sell trips there.
