Darap's homestays range from the well-known Daragaon Village Retreat to simple family homes. All give you a room in a lived-in house, meals with or prepared by the family, and time to see daily village life.
Over two nights you can walk the terraces, visit the Rimbi river, learn a few Limbu words and, if your hosts are willing, help in the kitchen or fields. Evenings are quiet, with tea, stories and early nights.
Respect the household's rhythm: meals come when the family eats, hot water may come in a bucket, and dogs and chickens wander. In return, you get a view of West Sikkim that no hotel can give.

Are Darap homestays comfortable?
Comfort varies. Daragaon Village Retreat offers comfortable rooms with attached bathrooms; simpler homes may have shared bathrooms and bucket hot water. All provide clean bedding and home-cooked meals. Tell us your needs and we will match you to a suitable family.
Can children stay in Darap homestays?
Yes, and many enjoy it: farm animals, open fields and friendly hosts. Supervise children near terraces and water. Bring warm clothes, a torch and any snacks or medicines they need, as village shops are small.
