Wikipedia says Rongli Khola and the Rangpo river meet at Rongli, and the Rangpo then flows past Rorathang to join the Teesta at Rangpo town. The stream near Lingtam is part of this river system.
Walk with your host or guide to a safe bank. In winter the river is shallow, and in monsoon it rises fast. Never swim in the main channel. Keep children away from the edge and do not cross wet rocks.
Birds such as brown dippers can be seen on fast streams in the sanctuary region, though we cannot promise sightings. Go early or at dusk, move quietly and take your litter with you.

Questions travellers ask
Before you book
Is the river safe for swimming?
No. Currents can be strong and water can rise suddenly after upstream rain, especially from June to September. Paddling in a shallow edge pool in winter can be fine, with a local's advice. Never swim in the main channel.
When is the best time to walk to the river?
Between October and April in settled weather, when water is low and paths dry. Avoid the monsoon and the day after heavy rain. Early morning is quietest.
Do we need a guide for the river walk?
Not strictly, but a host or local guide knows which banks are safe and which paths have slipped. It costs little or nothing at a homestay. Ask before you set off.
