A tea and picnic break on the road north
Use the falls as a natural pause between Gangtok and Phodong: a cup of tea, some snacks and a stretch before the road climbs again. A modest, low-cost break with a good sound and a cooler breeze.

Small stalls near roadside waterfalls in Sikkim usually serve tea, instant noodles and biscuits, though we cannot promise that one will be open when you pass. Ask your driver. If no stall is open, carry a flask and snacks from Gangtok, and use the pull-off for a short rest.
Keep it simple and clean. Take your litter with you, use the bin if there is one and do not leave plastic in the stream. Carry a refillable bottle. Prices are low, roughly ₹20 to 50 for tea and ₹50 to 150 for a snack, indicative, and you should pay in small notes.
For a proper meal, Phodong's bazaar, about 10 to 15 km further north, has simple eating places, and Mangan has more. Leave Gangtok by 8:30 am so lunch falls at Phodong. Check current status before you travel, and watch the time if you are heading to the Toong check post.

Questions travellers ask
Before you book
Can we have lunch at the falls?
Not reliably. Small stalls may serve tea and snacks, but a proper meal is better at Phodong or Mangan. Carry water and snacks if you are travelling with children or older people. Check current status before you travel.
How much does tea cost at a roadside stall?
Roughly ₹20 to 50 for tea and ₹50 to 150 for noodles or snacks, indicative. Prices vary by stall and season. Carry small notes, and ask the price before ordering.
Where can we use a toilet?
Facilities at the pull-off are limited or absent, so plan for a toilet stop at Gangtok before you leave, at Phodong or at a stall that offers one. Check current status before you travel and ask your driver.
