A short stop at the Seven Sisters Waterfall
Stop at the pull-off beside the falls, watch the water in several streams over dark rock and take a few photographs. A quick, free break on the drive between Gangtok and Phodong, best done with an eye on the road.

The falls are visible from the highway, and drivers know the pull-off. Step out, look at the water falling in several streams and feel the cool spray if the flow is strong. The sound carries up the road, and the rock around it is dark and wet.
Keep the visit short. Park off the carriageway, watch for traffic on blind bends and do not climb the wet rock to get closer. The edge of the road is narrow, and vehicles on the North Sikkim Highway do not slow for photographers.
Fit it into a day loop with Kabi Lungchok and Phodong rather than making a special trip. In the monsoon the flow is strongest, but slides can close the road, so check current status before you travel and ask your driver about conditions.

Questions travellers ask
Before you book
How long should we stop at the Seven Sisters Waterfall?
Ten to twenty minutes is enough for a look, photographs and a cup of tea if a stall is open. Longer stops add little, and the road edge is narrow. Keep the stop short on busy days and when the road is wet.
Is it safe to go close to the water?
We advise against it. The rocks are wet and slippery, the flow rises quickly after rain, and the road edge is exposed to traffic. Watch from the pull-off or a safe spot your driver chooses, and keep children close at all times.
Is there an entry fee?
As far as we know, no. It is a roadside waterfall with a pull-off and sometimes a tea stall. Arrangements can change, so check current status before you travel and ask your driver for the best stopping point.
