A short stop at the Naga Waterfall
Pull over at the Naga Waterfall for a quick look and photographs on the way to Chungthang. A free, short break from the road that gives some sense of the gorge you are driving through.

The falls come down beside the road in the gorge between Mangan and Toong, and drivers know the pull-off. Step out, look at the water falling over rock and listen to the sound, which is louder after rain. It is a good point for photographs and a cup of tea if a stall is open.
Keep the stop short. The road edge is narrow, traffic does not slow for photographers and slides are common on this stretch. Stay back from the wet rock and the drop, and keep children close. Do not climb on the barrier.
Use your time well. On the way up, leave plenty of margin for the Toong check post, which tourist vehicles must cross by 4:00 pm. On the way down, the stop is a pleasant break before the final run to Mangan. Check current status before you travel.

Questions travellers ask
Before you book
How long is the stop at the Naga Waterfall?
Ten to fifteen minutes is usual. Drivers keep it short because the Toong check post closes to tourist vehicles at 4:00 pm. On the way down, you have more time. Ask your driver, and check current status before you travel.
Is there an entry fee?
As far as we know, no. It is a roadside waterfall. Arrangements can change, so check current status before you travel and ask your driver for the safest place to stop.
Is it safe to go near the water?
We advise against it. The rock is wet and slippery, the flow can rise quickly after rain and the road is narrow with passing traffic. Watch from the pull-off, keep children close and follow your driver's advice.
