Lampokhari Village Resort is one of the few stays in Aritar that calls itself a resort rather than a homestay. It sits in Dalapchand, close to the lake, and offers private rooms with attached bathrooms, meals cooked on site and parking for your car, which matters on Aritar's narrow lanes.
We use it for guests who want the comforts of a small hotel in a place that otherwise runs on homestays. It costs more than the lakeside family houses, and you trade some home atmosphere for privacy. Rates rise in October, around Diwali and over Christmas and New Year; book early for those weeks. No special permit is needed for Aritar.
Why we book it
What it does well
- Private rooms and on-site meals close to the lake
- Parking and easy car access
- More comfort than a homestay without leaving Aritar

Questions travellers ask
Questions about Lampokhari Village Resort
Is Lampokhari Village Resort near the lake?
Yes, it is in Dalapchand, a short walk or drive from Lampokhari lake and Aritar bazaar. You can walk to the lake for an early circuit before breakfast and be back for tea. Ask for a room facing the valley when booking.
Does the resort serve meals?
Yes. Meals are cooked on site and usually include breakfast and dinner on a meal plan, with lunch on request. Food is a mix of Indian and simple Nepali dishes. There are a few small eateries in Aritar bazaar if you want a change.
Should we choose the resort or a homestay in Aritar?
Choose the resort if you want privacy, a car park and a more hotel-like room. Choose one of the better lakeside homestays if you want home food, family company and a lower bill. Both are good bases for the lake, the gumpa and Mankhim. We can price both for your dates.
